Our cars run on diesel or gasoline which are made from petroleum. This petroleum when burnt, emits out carbon dioxide and water. Till now nothing causes harm. When the input pipe brings the toxic gases to the converter, it breaks the molecules into smaller ones, thus reducing their effect. The converter has a honeycomb like structure which traps the polluted gases and quickly converts them into less harmful gases. Now these gases can be thrown into the air, as their harmful effect is low. The exhaust system, the car and the environment as a whole are by and large safe.
